Job SummaryPerforms preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical); evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield; performs equipment failure analyses (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance); troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems; prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures.
General Profile- Requires basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process
- Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines
- Works with close supervision
- Performs manual tasks according to established procedures
- Performs preventive maintenance and skilled repairs on complex electrical and mechanical production equipment and systems.
- Follows standard procedures to monitor equipment for performance, safety, and effectiveness.
- Performs equipment failure analysis to complete preventive and unscheduled maintenance.
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems.
- Logs equipment modifications and maintenance details in the designated system.
- Follows prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintains quality standards
- Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 1-2 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
- Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree
- Discipline/Major: Maintenance or related discipline preferred
- Knowledge, skills & abilities: Ability to work as part of a team; problem‑solving skills; technical expertise; automation; calibration; equipment maintenance; failure analysis; manufacturing support; mechanical troubleshooting; numerical control; production support; refurbishment; total productive maintenance (TPM); equipment repairs; mechanical maintenance; equipment monitoring; process documentation.
- Requires regular movement throughout GD‑OTS facilities.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
- May be requested to work a different shift.
- This position is Safety‑Sensitive.
No or very little travel likely.
