Job Title:
- Ready Mix Truck Driver Hampton Roads Department:
Concrete
Reports to:
Superintendent
- Drive trucks equipped with concrete mixer to transport and dump concrete.
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
- Pull or push levers to turn mixer drum and dump contents.
- Move hand and foot controls to move truck forward and backward to aid in the placement of concrete.
- Inspect truck equipment and supplies in accordance with CDL pre-trip guidelines.
- Use hand tools when necessary.
- Oil, lubricate, and/or general maintenance of equipment may be required.
- Knowledge of DOT standards and requirements and adhere to same.
- Maintain daily log.
- Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid CDL, Class A or B license with air brake endorsement.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience driving commercial vehicles preferred.
- Vision must be acceptable for day and night driving.
- Must possess a Real the purposes of accessing military bases. If you do not have a Real , you must be able to obtain one 30 days from date of hire.
- Ability to do basic math.
- High School Diploma / GED.
- Job requires the following motions: climbing, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, vibrating, and reaching.
- Must be able to climb up and down a ladder.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Potential exposure to extremes of hot or cold weather.
- Overtime work is required.
- Physical strength must be enough to climb in and out of truck throughout the workday, carry chutes, and carry out tasks that may be assigned to you.
