HOURLY RATE: $19.00 - $21.00, will consider experience

The Franklin County Secondary Roads Department is accepting applications for two (2) motivated individuals for sign work which may include placement of signage for road maintenance activities and flagging oncoming traffic to warn of roadwork in progress. You will report to the Hampton shed for work within Franklin County. This position will be under the supervision of the County Engineer and Secondary Roads Foreman.

• Full-time—Monday through Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
• Temporary for the summer 2026 season, expected to start in May with work completing in August.

Must be capable of regular attendance. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, perform work in all types of weather conditions with exposure to dust, fumes, and loud noises. Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively and follow basic verbal and written instructions. Demonstrate safe working habits by following all safety rules, policies, and regulations.

Acceptance of position is contingent on passing of post-offer physical, drug screen, and criminal background check.

Minimum 18 years of age, previous experience not required but helpful. Valid Iowa driver’s license required with proof of insurance and good driving history.
