U.S. Facilities, Inc., a facility management and infrastructure service organization, is seeking a Bridge-Tunnel Operation Crew member at our Virginia site.

Responsibilities include:

  • Inspect vehicles at inspection stations for over-height, hazardous materials, security threats, and violations; document issues and notify the Operations Crew Lead and control room.
  • Provide security by monitoring stations, investigating suspicious activities, and directing traffic using appropriate techniques.
  • Operate various vehicular equipment, maintaining valid DMV licensure.
  • Flag high-volume traffic, often standing for extended periods in adverse weather.
  • Use hand tools such as shovels and brooms.
  • Assist emergency responders and maintenance personnel, using safety techniques like CPR/First Aid; operate patrol vehicles and monitor roadway conditions.
  • Respond courteously to motorists and coworkers, providing clear information and directions, especially in emergencies.
  • Perform inspections of work areas and facilities, maintain cleanliness, and ensure safety.
  • Process violations, escort wide-load vehicles, and respond to incidents including scene cleanup and evacuations.
  • Operate computer and radio equipment, and perform manual labor as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and deploy incident response trailers.
  • Monitor road safety, assist stranded motorists, and coordinate with first responders.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • The physical demands include climbing, balancing, bending, walking, standing, lifting over 50 lbs., and working in various weather conditions and hazards.

    Qualifications include:

    • High School diploma or GED
    • Knowledge of traffic control procedures and Hampton Roads roadways
    • Strong command of English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus
    • Vehicle maintenance knowledge, communication skills, and computer literacy
    • Ability to perform physical tasks and work in a fast-paced, noisy environment, including weekends and holidays

    Work conditions involve a 90-day probation, training, safety gear, and potential emergency duties during adverse weather or disaster situations. A valid driver’s license, DMV check, drug screening, and background check are required.
