Supervisory Mobility Transportation Specialist
Job DescriptionThe primary purpose of this position is to manage all VTS and BT Program activities, including patient transport, Special Mode Travel (SMT), mileage reimbursement claims, transportation contracts, 911 ambulance claims, inter-facility transfers, and common carrier transportation. Also supervises/ensures the VTS and BT processes comply with regulatory guidance, while assuring program effectiveness. The incumbent also serves as the primary POC and responsible party for BT IPERA audit processes and documentation.
Serves as the Contracting Officer Representative for all transportation contracts, including common carrier, Special Mode, ambulance and air ambulance. The incumbent assures and oversees the scheduling of routine, urgent and emergent transportation for Veterans, matters related to resource allocation, program development, supervision, Fund Control Point management, inter-service collaboration, community resource development with internal and external collaboration and analytical assessments, including managing the BT Behavior/Audit processes/policies/remediation/reporting.
Responsible for working with state Veterans and Transportation Agencies and local transportation providers to establish expanded transportation networks to improve Veterans access to care.
