The Auxiliary Warehouse Assistant reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor and plays a key role in supporting daily warehouse and logistics operations for Auxiliary Services. This position assists with furniture delivery, relocation, assembly, installation,maintenance, and repair across campus facilities and residencehalls. The Auxiliary Warehouse Assistant is also responsible for inventory management, fulfillment of work orders, receiving and distributing materials, and supporting warehouse organization and efficiency. The position requires routine travel to variouson-campus and off-campus locations and a commitment to providing exceptional service to students, faculty, staff, and campusguests.
Examplesof Duties Warehouse Operations & Logistics
- Assist the Warehouse Supervisor in preparing, coordinating, and completing work orders related to furniture delivery, pickup,relocation, installation, and repair.
- Receive, inspect, verify, and process incoming inventory,furniture, equipment, and warehouse materials, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
- Pick, pack, stage, and transport materials for delivery,storage, or distribution.
- Load, unload, move, and deliver furniture, equipment, and supplies to campus departments, residence halls, and other designated locations.
- Support inventory control procedures by accurately tracking,storing, and organizing materials and supplies.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe warehouse environment incompliance with departmental and university standards.
- Operate warehouse equipment and vehicles safely and responsiblywhile following established procedures and safety protocols.
- Assemble, install, and relocate furniture and equipment as assigned.
- Perform basic furniture repairs, adjustments, and preventative maintenance.
- Assist with room setups, event preparations, and furniturereconfigurations as needed.
- Report damaged furniture, equipment, or safety concerns to the Warehouse Supervisor promptly.
- Collaborate with Auxiliary Services and other campusdepartments to ensure efficient and timely service
- Support residence hall openings, closings, room transitions,and special campus projects.
- Conduct routine inspections and walkthroughs of residence hallsto support operational readiness for the Fall and Spring semesters.
- Maintain professional communication with supervisors, team members, and campus stakeholders to ensure effective coordination of work activities.
- Contribute to a positive customer service culture by providing responsive and courteous support to the campus community.
- Complete assigned tasks accurately, efficiently, and within established deadlines.
- Assist in maintaining overall warehouse productivity,efficiency, and service quality.
- Participate in departmental training and safety programs as required.
Perform other duties as assigned to support Auxiliary Servicesoperations.
Typical Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in ateam environment.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.

- Previous experience in warehouse operations, moving services,logistics, facilities support, or related fields.
- Experience with inventory management and material handling.
- Basic knowledge of furniture assembly, repair, or maintenance techniques.
- Experience working in a higher education or customer service environment preferred.
- Forklift or material handling equipment experience is aplus.
