Dental Billing Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Dental Billing Specialist to join our dental office. We are seeking someone who is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling dental insurance claims from submission through payment.

• Submit dental insurance claims accurately and on time
• Follow up on unpaid and outstanding insurance claims
• Work insurance accounts receivable and aging reports
• Investigate denied, rejected, and underpaid claims
• Submit corrected claims and appeals when necessary
• Verify insurance benefits and eligibility
• Obtain pre-authorizations and predeterminations when needed
• Post insurance payments and EOBs accurately
• Review patient and insurance balances for accuracy
• Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and payment issues
• Resolve coordination of benefits and insurance discrepancies
• Maintain accurate billing notes and documentation
• Assist with patient billing questions when necessary
• Help ensure outstanding balances are followed up on consistently

• Previous dental billing experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of dental insurance terminology and claim processing
• Experience working dental insurance AR
• Familiarity with PPO plans and dental benefit breakdowns
• Comfortable communicating with insurance companies and patients
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to independently follow claims through resolution
• Experience with Denticon preferred
