Educational Technology Instructional Coach
Reports to:
Executive Director of Student Achievement
The Educational Technology Instructional Coach is a critical member of the school's instructional leadership team, working collaboratively with teachers and administrators to integrate technology meaningfully into teaching and learning. The coach promotes research‑based best practices in educational technology by providing job‑embedded professional development, modeling innovative digital pedagogy, and supporting teachers in leveraging technology to enhance student engagement and achievement. Through a collaborative coaching cycle, the coach empowers educators to transform their practice using technology tools and digital resources that support rigorous, personalized learning experiences for all students.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree required;
Master's degree preferred - State of Michigan Teacher Certification required
- Minimum of 5 years successful classroom teaching experience
- Technology endorsement or advanced certifications in educational technology preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in educational technology integration and digital pedagogy
- Experience in adult learning and professional development facilitation preferred
- Evidence of innovative technology use in classroom instruction
Skills and Abilities
- Deep understanding of pedagogical principles and how technology can enhance teaching and learning; expertise in a wide range of educational technology tools, platforms, and applications.
- Strong knowledge of digital learning theory and research‑based practices in technology integration.
- Ability to coach and mentor adult learners using effective coaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships.
- Understanding of curriculum standards and how technology can support standards‑based instruction.
- Knowledge of digital citizenship, online safety, and ethical technology use.
- Ability to differentiate professional development to meet diverse teacher needs.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot both technical and pedagogical challenges; commitment to equity and ensuring all students have access to high‑quality, technology‑enhanced learning experiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and technology support staff.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information related to students, staff, and instructional practices.
- Provide individualized coaching support to teachers through observation, modeling, co‑teaching, and feedback focused on technology integration.
- Design and facilitate professional development sessions on educational technology tools, digital pedagogy, and innovative instructional strategies.
- Model effective technology‑enhanced lessons that demonstrate best practices in digital teaching and learning.
- Collaborate with teachers to analyze student data and select appropriate technology tools to support differentiated instruction and intervention.
- Support teachers in developing digital literacy skills and understanding of how technology can enhance student engagement and achievement.
- Assist teachers in integrating online teaching systems, learning management platforms, and digital assessment tools into their instruction.
- Provide coaching on the pedagogical use of educational technology rather than just technical training.
- Help teachers design authentic, technology‑rich learning experiences that promote critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration.
