Job Summary:Responsibleforpreparingandimplementingafulleducationalteachingplan according to Hamtramck Public School requirements.

• Valid Michiganteachingcertificate(withacredentialinanadditionalcoreacademicarea preferred: Mathematics, Science, English Language Arts, Social Studies)
• Bachelor'sdegreeincludingallcoursestomeetcredentialrequirements

• Delivers Michigan Academic Standards (MAS) asidentifiedbythe
  
  Stateof Michiganandthe District  to help students meet and or exceed minimum content area proficiency standards
• Developsandadministerselementaryschoolcurriculumaccordingto Hamtramck Public Schools ' goals and objectives.
• Fostersaclassroomenvironmentthatissafeandconducivetoindividualizedandsmallgroup instruction, and student learning.
• Developslessonplans/instructionalmaterialsandincorporatesthemintolearningexperiences
• Clearlycommunicatesbothcontentandlanguageobjectivestostudents.
• Usesthe Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) strategiesthatreflectunderstandingof the learning styles and needs of students.
• Employsavarietyofresearchbasedinstructionalstrategiesandinstructionalmediaconsistentwith the capabilities, needs, and physical limitations of students.
• Differentiatesinstructionforstudentsbaseduponneedandworkswithstudentsandotherteachers in inclusive settings.
• Steersindividualandsmallgroupinstruction,asneeded.
• Conductsappropriateassessmentsandmaintainsaccuratedataonstudentsinareasofattendance, grades, MTSS, ELD and IEP progress, if applicable.
• Administersstandardized/localtestsinaccordancewith
  
  Hamtramck Public School sand MDE testing programs.
• Organizesandmaintainsasystemforaccurateandcompleterecord-keeping,grading,and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
• Encouragesparentalinvolvementinstudents'educationandensureseffectivecommunicationwith students and parents/guardians.
• Facilitates Positive Behavior Intervention sand Supports .
• Participatesinprofessionaldevelopmentand Professional Learning Communities .
• Performsotherdutiesasassigned.
