Job Summary
Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Coordinator, Med Surg
Location: Hamtramck, Michigan (Detroit Medical Center)
Schedule: 36 hours per week, 12‑hour shifts, ongoing staff role.
Sign‑On Bonus: Up to $25,000 based on relevant experience.
Assumes shift responsibilities for the care delivery team, coordinating staffing, scheduling, and prioritizing patient care. Works with interdisciplinary teams to address unit and system issues, contributes to process improvement, staff education, and performance appraisals.
Responsibilities- Lead and serve as a resource for nursing personnel.
- Assist the clinical manager in planning and facilitating staff meetings and development sessions.
- Monitor nursing schedules to ensure adequate nurse‑patient ratios and communicate changes with the staffing office.
- Facilitate shared decision‑making among staff to improve unit throughput and reduce length of stay.
- Coordinate in‑service programs to maintain or enhance staff competence.
- Assist manager with interview, selection, retention, mentoring, and evaluation of staff.
- Participate in development of policies, procedures, and standards for the department.
- Aid in department process improvement and peer review initiatives.
- Associate's Degree/Diploma required; BSN preferred.
- Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan.
- One to two years of progressively responsible experience with demonstrated leadership skills.
- Ability to prioritize, delegate, and facilitate processes.
- Minimum level6 of the Promoting Excellence Performance Criteria. Internal candidates are preferred.
- BLS required; ACLS preferred.
