Job Overview

Detroit Medical Center (DMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for its Orthopedics unit in Hamtramck, Michigan. The position is a staff RN role covering 36 hours per week, with 12-hour shifts. Employment is ongoing.

Up to $25,000 sign-on bonus
, based on relevant experience.

• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Delegate, assess, provide and evaluate patient care activities.
• Assist team members with patient care and monitor patient progress.
• Prepare patients for discharge and report to senior unit management.
• Participate in shared decision-making activities.
• Engage in interdisciplinary team conferences, including PT/OT/speech therapy.
• Maintain 1:6 RN to patient ratio with acuity-based assignments.
• Apply independent judgment in nursing care activities.
• Conduct EKG interpretation and other required clinical skills.

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Michigan.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience in orthopedics or related patient care settings is preferred.

36 hours per week, 12-hour shift coverage on a staff schedule.
