Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Coordinator – ED (Emergency Department)

Location:

Hamtramck, Michigan. Employment:
Staff, ongoing.

Work schedule:

12‑hour shifts, 36 hours per week. Sign on bonus: up to $10,000 based on relevant experience.

Job Summary

In addition to the staff nurse role, this coordinator assumes shift responsibilities for the care delivery team. Responsibilities include coordinating staffing, prioritizing and delegating patient care, evaluating nursing staff performance, and engaging in process improvement. The role works with the interdisciplinary team to solve system and unit‑based issues, provide input for nursing performance appraisals, and support staff education and development.

Responsibilities
  • Functions as lead and resource person for nursing personnel, assisting the clinical manager in planning staff meetings and development.
  • Collaborate with manager to monitor staffing schedules and maintain adequate nurse‑patient ratio.
  • Facilitate shared decision‑making among staff and improve unit throughput to reduce length of stay.
  • Coordinate in‑service programs to maintain or enhance staff competence.
  • Assist manager with interview, selection, retention, mentoring, and evaluation of staff.
  • Participate in development of policies, procedures, and standards for the department.
  • Assist with department process improvement and peer review activities.
  • Qualifications
    • Associate’s Degree or Diploma required; BSN preferred.
    • Licensed RN in Michigan.
    • One to two years of progressively responsible experience with demonstrated leadership abilities.
    • Proficiency in prioritizing work, delegating, and facilitating processes.
    • Minimum Level 6 Promoting Excellence Performance Criteria; internal candidates preferred.
    • BLS required; ACLS preferred.
