Position: staff - Registered Nurse (RN) - Clinical Coordinator, OR - Operating Room - $31-43 per hour

Job Summary

Detroit Medical Center seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Coordinator for the Operating Room in Hamtramck, Michigan. The position is a staff nurse role with additional leadership responsibilities, including shifting leadership, staffing coordination, quality improvement, and staff development. Shift length is 12 hours, 36 hours per week, ongoing staff assignment.

Key Compensation

Up to $10,000 Sign on Bonus
, based on relevant experience.

Responsibilities
  • Act as lead and resource person for nursing personnel; provide clinical resource and assist in staff meetings and development.
  • Collaborate with manager in prospective monitoring of schedules to assure adequate nurse‑patient ratios; review monthly schedules and communicate staffing changes.
  • Facilitate shared decision‑making among staff and unit throughput to improve length of stay.
  • Coordinate and provide in‑service programs to help staff maintain or enhance competence in fulfilling job responsibilities.
  • Assist manager with interview, selection, retention, mentoring, and evaluation of staff.
  • Participate in development of policies, procedures and standards for the department.
  • Assist with department process improvement and peer review.
  • Qualifications
    • Associate’s Degree/Diploma required; BSN preferred.
    • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan.
    • One to two years of progressively responsible experience with evidence of increasing leadership abilities.
    • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, delegate to others, and facilitate processes.
    • Minimum Level 6 of the Promoting Excellence Performance Criteria; internal candidates preferred.
    • BLS required; ACLS preferred.
