Job Overview
Detroit Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse Clinical Coordinator (RN) – Orthopedics for a staffing position in Hamtramck, Michigan. The role is ongoing with 36 hours per week, comprising 12‑hour shifts, and offers a sign‑on bonus of up to $25,000 based on relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Functions as lead and resource person for nursing personnel; assists the clinical manager in planning and facilitating staff meetings and staff development.Collaborates with the manager in prospective monitoring of the schedule to assure adequate nurse‑patient ratios on each shift; reviews monthly schedules and communicates staffing changes with the staffing office.Facilitates shared decision‑making among staff and improves unit throughput to reduce length of stay.Coordinates and provides in‑service programs to help staff maintain or enhance competence in fulfilling job responsibilities based on identified patient‑care needs.May assist the manager with interview, selection, retention, mentoring, and evaluation of staff.Participates in the development of policies, procedures, and standards for the department.Assists with department process improvement and peer review.Qualifications
Associate’s Degree/Diploma required; BSN preferred.Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by the state of Michigan.One to two years of progressively more responsible experience with evidence of increasing leadership abilities.Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, delegate to others, and facilitate processes.Minimum Level6 of the Promoting Excellence Performance Criteria; internal candidates preferred.BLS required; ACLS preferred.Benefits
