Position Overview

Divine Redeemer School is a private PreK-8 Catholic school located in Hanahan, South Carolina. Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement academic plans for students with special needs, in collaboration with parents, school administrators, and support staff.
  • Provide direct instruction to students in various subject areas, adapting teaching methods and materials to meet individual learning styles and abilities.
  • Assess student progress regularly and modify instructional strategies as needed to ensure academic growth and achievement.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported in their learning journey.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and specialists to coordinate services and accommodations for students with special needs.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress, discuss concerns, and solicit feedback on educational goals and strategies.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to special education best practices, instructional technology, and student assessment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Valid teaching certification/license in Special Education (or ability to obtain certification/license).
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including but not limited to learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and ADHD strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders.
  • Commitment to creating inclusive learning environments and supporting the academic, social, and emotional needs of all students.
