Utility Vegetation Supervisor

About the Role

We’re hiring a Utility Vegetation Management Supervisor to lead crews performing manual felling, right-of-way clearing, hazard tree removal, and vegetation control along utility corridors.

This role blends hands-on field leadership with strict safety oversight and project coordination. You’ll drive daily production, enforce safety standards, support your crew, and keep operations moving with precision, discipline, and professionalism.

Crew Leadership & Field Operations

• Lead, mentor, and coordinate manual felling, climbing, and bucket-truck crews
• Assign daily work, direct crew movements, and maintain production targets
• Promote a safety-first, high-performance crew culture
• Oversee clearing, trimming, hazard tree removal, and fuel-reduction operations
• Ensure all work meets client specs, environmental rules, and regulatory standards
• Verify cut quality, equipment use, and final cleanup

Safety Oversight

• Conduct daily JHAs and safety briefings
• Enforce OSHA, utility, and internal safety policies without exception
• Identify hazards and immediately implement corrective actions
• Document incidents, near misses, and safety observations

Communication & Coordination

• Act as the field point of contact for PMs, inspectors, and clients
• Provide daily reporting, production logs, and progress updates
• Track equipment needs, material usage, and crew readiness

• Supervisory experience in vegetation, forestry, utility line clearance, or right-of-way operations
• Strong competency in manual felling, chainsaw handling, and safe cutting practices
• Ability to assess hazards, read work plans, and enforce mitigation strategies
• Strong communicator with steady, consistent leadership presence
