Overview:
The Quality & Compliance Senior Director is responsible for managing all aspects of Live Comfortably’s Quality Assurance, Regulatory Compliance, and Sustainability functions. This role provides strategic leadership across North American operations and the global supply chain to ensure products meet internal standards, customer expectations, and all applicable regulatory requirements. The position drives organizational ownership of quality, supports customer satisfaction and continuous improvement initiatives, and strengthens Quality Management Systems to support company objectives, growth, and risk mitigation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Includes the following, other duties may be assigned)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Establish and drive a clear strategic quality and compliance vision that promotes organizational ownership of quality at all levels.
- Lead and continuously improve a results-driven Quality Management System focused on customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, associate development, business growth, and financial performance.
- Provide executive leadership to Quality Assurance, Regulatory, Quality Engineering, and Sustainability teams, including recruitment, development, performance management, and succession planning.
- Oversee quality operations across corporate functions, manufacturing plants, and domestic and international suppliers to ensure compliance with LC, customer, and regulatory requirements.
- Direct product safety, compliance, and technical risk management processes throughout the supply chain to ensure product integrity and consumer safety.
- Create, review, and maintain product specifications, testing protocols, inspection procedures, and approval processes for components and finished goods.
- Lead corrective and preventive action systems addressing nonconforming materials, products, and processes with minimal disruption to operations and customer service.
- Direct internal Quality Management System audits and oversee supplier and customer factory audits, including GMP compliance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve customer complaints, product claims, and quality performance issues.
- Develop and communicate quality metrics and KPIs across the organization and partner with plant leadership to drive action plans and defect reduction.
- Provide statistical analysis and process control expertise to manufacturing operations to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee Quality SOPs, document control, training programs, and compliance documentation across LC and the supply chain.
- Prepare and present quarterly Quality Management and KPI reports to Executive Leadership.
- Lead sustainability strategy execution across the global supply chain, including materials, processes, and environmental impact reduction initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with global, federal, state, and customer regulatory requirements related to product safety, chemical management, labeling, packaging, and advertising.
- Direct compliance with regulations including, but not limited to, CPSIA, Prop 65, Cal TB 117, FTC, flammability standards, REACH, TSCA, and customer-specific requirements.
- Establish and oversee testing protocols and certification programs supporting product claims and traceable content standards such as Organic, Recycled, and Responsible sourcing certifications.
- Manage customer-specific product validation testing and serve as an escalation point for testing discrepancies and approvals.
- Oversee quality engineering functions including product testing, material evaluations, competitor analysis, and technical reviews.
- Make final decisions on product acceptance or rejection to minimize risk to manufacturing and end consumers.
- Manage budgets related to product testing, laboratory services, certifications, permits, and regulatory licenses.
- Advise Product Development, Merchandising, and Sales leadership on technical feasibility, product risk, and new technology adoption.
- Coordinate the New Product Development stage gate process and facilitate cross-functional communication for successful product launches.
- Provide technical textile expertise to internal teams and suppliers, particularly related to performance claims, fabric development, and compliance challenges.
- Validate testing accuracy through lab audits and correlation studies and oversee supplier technical performance KPIs.
- Perform additional duties and lead special projects as assigned.
