This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.
Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required.
Position Responsibilities- Verifies routine product conformance to design requirements.
- Provides objective evidence of results. Performs auditing, surveillance and monitoring.
- Identifies and documents discrepancies.
- Segregates and controls non-conforming items.
- Conducts product review with customer during product or process verification.
- Identifies repetitive or significant non-conformances and initiates requests for corrective action.
- High School Diploma or GED is typically the minimum requirement.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments:
Calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, etc. routinely used to verify dimensions and tolerances. - Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and engineering specifications:
Essential for comparing received items against design requirements. - Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook):
Essential for documentation, report generation, and communication. - Strong attention to detail: A critical requirement for meticulous examination of materials and documentation.
- Relevant experience, 2-4 years, in quality inspection, especially in manufacturing or related environments like aerospace, is highly valued.
- Experience with First Article Inspections (FAI):
Ensuring initial production runs meet specifications. - Familiarity with quality standards and specifications:
Understanding industry guidelines (like AS9100 in aerospace) and internal company standards. - Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles:
Can be beneficial for process improvement. - Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) (e.g., SAP, Oracle):
Used for managing inventory, tracking orders, and documenting inspection results. - Experience using quality management software (e.g., TIPQA):
For managing inspection processes and documentation. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills:
To identify root causes of defects, analyze inspection data, and recommend corrective actions.
