Salary Range: $21.48 - $21.50 Hourly
The position of General Production Worker is an important role in the daily operations of our facilities. There are a variety of responsibilities within this title, including handling all aspects of the animal such as processing meat, trimming, verifying quality and accuracy of products, packaging, weighing and boxing, all while making safety and food safety the number one priorities.
Responsibilities- Work in various areas of the meat production workflow.
- Assist in ensuring fundamental food safety and quality practices are maintained to achieve food safety and quality objectives.
- Support ongoing improvements of food safety programs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Use all safety personal protective equipment and follow all safety procedures and rules.
- Trim to remove fat, hide, defects or contamination from muscle and tissues.
- Support roles in the processing of beef.
- Use knives or other tools for cutting.
- Weigh, label, bag, pack, and box finished product.
- Ensure food safety and quality throughout the process.
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
- Repetitive tasks performed in a fast‑paced environment.
- Physically demanding: continuous standing, lifting up to 40 lbs, climbing steps and using ladders as required.
- Knife work involves repetitive use of hands, wrists, arms and shoulders.
- Exposure to temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, wet and/or humid conditions, and slippery surfaces at varied heights.
- Requires regular sensory attention (audio and visual) to surroundings.
- General knowledge of machinery and production operations.
- Previous experience in a meat processing and packing environment is a definite asset.
- Ability to identify food safety violations or product quality issues.
- Ability to work under cold or hot conditions.
- Commitment to safety and food quality processes.
- Ability to stand and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods of time.
- Critical thinking, strong memory, and continuous learning.
- Excellent hand‑eye coordination and decision‑making skills.
