Position Overview

Job Title: LVN – Emergency Department 1 (Auto Offer)

Location: Hanford, California, United States (In‑Office)

Shift: Day Shift, 36 or 48 hours per week;
Backfill for EPIC; requires experience with EPIC and Cerner.

Unit Details: Hospital total bed count: 130 Beds. Unit bed count: 26 Beds (10 hallway, 6 internal). Staffing: 8‑9+ RNs during the day, 8‑9+ at night, same weekend staffing. Lead RN required. No floating, no calls, weekend coverage required. Medication system:
Pyxis. EMR system:
Cerner. No lift teams.

Hours:

24/7 service.

Located in a tight‑knit community in Kings County, Adventist Health Hanford serves the Central Valley since 1965. The 173‑bed hospital and outpatient clinics offer primary and specialty care. Job Summary

Performs procedures requiring specialized training for general nursing care and related services under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Medical Doctor (MD). Participates in planning and provision of patient care. Applies asepsis in treatments, such as sterile dressings, irritations, and cauterizations. Provides functional direction to ancillary personnel.

Qualifications
  • Education: High School Education/GED or equivalent (Preferred);
    Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (Preferred).
  • Licensing: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) licensure in state of practice (Required).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification from approved vendor per AH policy (Required).
  • Arrhythmia certification (Preferred).
Essential Functions
  • Provides care for assigned patients, under RN supervision following established standards.
  • Performs admission assessments and ongoing reassessments per department policy.
  • Assists in developing a prioritized interdisciplinary plan of care for each patient.
  • Implements and coordinates plan of care using appropriate organizational skills and reporting mechanisms.
  • Implements individual teaching plans, including patient teaching protocols and discharge plans.
  • Performs assigned clinical procedures (e.g., phlebotomy, injections, drug screens) and administers medications.
  • Orders/restocks supplies as assigned, according to established par levels.
  • Maintains cleanliness in assigned areas (pre‑op, PACU, soiled corridor, utility rooms, lounges, locker rooms, restrooms).
  • Performs daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning throughout the department per schedule.
  • Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
