Operating Room Nurse

Provides expert nursing care within the Operating Room setting, ensuring patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes. Supervises and coordinates perioperative nursing activities while collaborating with surgical teams and supporting staff.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients’ health status prior to surgical procedures and prepare them accordingly.
• Implement perioperative nursing care plans, employing sterile techniques and infection control protocols.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to any intraoperative changes or emergencies.
• Educate patients and their families about procedures, postoperative care, and recovery expectations.
• Delegate and supervise nursing staff within the operating room to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Possess at least two years of recent experience in an Operating Room or surgical environment.
• Maintain current BLS certification and ACLS certification as required.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical procedures, and perioperative protocols.
• Exhibit excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.
