Responsibilities- Assists with maintaining the Department’s quality assurance and quality improvement programs in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, county and department rules, guidelines, and values.
- Participates in the development of systems and standards for compliance evaluation; implements training, monitoring, and processes to ensure that service delivery activities comply with specified laws; recommends ways to integrate continuous quality improvement activities and messaging into all aspects of the department’s business activities.
- Participates in the State required performance improvement processes; conducts research; compiles and analyzes data; identifies clinical and non-clinical processes in need of improvement; attends and participates in meetings; implements processes and evaluates effectiveness; prepares and presents statistical and narrative reports related to activities; measures and evaluates outcomes against baseline data to determine progress toward goals.
- Reviews direct service delivery staff and service provider records and monitoring tools; conducts programmatic reviews to ensure compliance with quality and mandated standards related to services, documentation, security, and privacy.
- Collects and compiles data related to various programs and services; prepares and submits monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required by state and/or department including not limited to timeliness, network adequacy, utilization review, and various other reports on program metrics; analyzes data and reports to ensure compliance.
- Participates in the implementation of policies and procedures concerning best practices, quality assurance, continuous quality improvement, and compliance.
- Receives and compiles data into detailed logs, databases, files, and records; verifies accuracy of information, researches discrepancies, and records information; provides technical assistance to providers as necessary.
- Receives and responds to inquiries and requests for information related to quality assurance and quality improvement metrics; provides records and documentation as appropriate to confirm program compliance.
- Assists with the facilitation of all internal and external quality assurance audits; assists program staff in preparing for audits; assists with identifying and resolving corrective action plans as a result of the audit.
- Compiles, monitors, and reports performance outcomes related to compliance and provides support to internal staff and contracted service providers related to outcome measures and general support with quality assurance performance measures; serves as contact for staff and contractors.
- Maintains records to ensure that staff and providers have appropriate licensure, credentials, education, training, and other required certification.
- Stays abreast of new trends and innovations in mental health, substance use, prevention and early intervention, curriculum development, training, and other areas of assignment.
- Keeps abreast of all federal, state, county and department compliance policies and procedures and all regulations pertaining to quality assurance and documentation; disseminates information to internal staff and contracted service providers; and ensures compliance on a continuous basis.
- Attends and participates in a variety of meetings, committees, coalitions, trainings, and work groups in support of the department, quality assurance, and continuous quality improvement efforts.
- Observes and complies with all County and mandated safety rules, regulations, and protocols.
- Performs related duties as required.
