Salary Range: $85,000–$135,000 annually

About the Food Safety & Quality Control Manager

One of our top clients, a packing and distribution operation is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Control Manager to lead food safety, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance initiatives across its packing, cooling, storage, and distribution environments. This position drives a strong food safety culture while ensuring compliance with FDA, USDA, FSMA Produce Safety Rule, customer specifications, and third‑party audit standards.

Key Responsibilities for Food Safety & Quality Control Manager

  • Lead food safety and quality programs, ensuring compliance with FDA, USDA, FSMA, and customer requirements.
  • Manage third‑party audits, regulatory inspections, and corrective action processes.
  • Oversee environmental monitoring, sanitation verification, and pathogen‑prevention activities.
  • Direct all quality inspections for incoming, in‑process, and finished product; address quality issues and customer complaints.
  • Monitor product condition, maturity, defects, shelf‑life, and cold chain standards.
  • Train and supervise food safety and QC staff; support a strong food safety culture.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, review SOPs, and prepare reports on audits and performance metrics.
  • Identify risks and drive continuous improvement in food safety and quality systems.

Qualifications for Food Safety & Quality Control Manager

  • 3–5+ years of food safety and quality management experience in fresh produce or fresh fruit operations.
  • Strong understanding of FSMA, HACCP, GMPs, and sanitation programs.
  • HACCP certification & PCQI certification (Preferred).
  • Experience with Primus

    GFS, Global

    G.A.P., SQF, or similar audit schemes (Preferred).
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
