American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical Telemetry position requiring ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications and a MO state or compact RN license.

• Work in the Medical Telemetry unit of a hospital environment
• Care for patients requiring cardiac monitoring, hemodynamic stability observation, and post-procedure telemetry surveillance
• RN/Patient ratio of 5:1
• Patient population includes those with dysrhythmias, non-STEMI/STEMI recovery, post-PTCA, suspected pacemaker malfunction, and post-pacer/defibrillator/ablation observation
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Uses EPIC charting system
• Block scheduling may be discussed with the manager but cannot be guaranteed as part of the contract

• Active MO state or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Skills in IV starts and telemetry monitoring required
• Ability to perform routine finger stick blood sugar testing and manage cardiac/vasoactive drips such as Diltiazem and Metoprolol
• Must be able to pass a 7-panel drug and alcohol screening prior to start, as well as a day-one facility drug screen

• Provide nursing care for medical telemetry patients including monitoring, assessments every 8 hours, and vital sign checks
• Support physicians during procedures such as thoracentesis, paracentesis, central line insertion, bone marrow aspiration, and chest tube insertion
• Assist with special care procedures including blood transfusions and fluid boluses for blood pressure management
• Black scrub color required
• Smoke-free facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius from the facility as local candidates will not be accepted
• Orientation is typically held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month and lasts approximately 3-4 days
• Willingness to float to other units based on census and acuity may be required
• Willingness to care for COVID-19 patients on the unit is expected
