American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a MO state or compact RN license and night shift availability.

• Work in the Medical Telemetry unit of a hospital environment
• Cardiac and hemodynamically stable patient population including non-STEMI, post-PTCA, pacemaker, and post-ICU transfer cases
• RN to patient ratio of 5:1
• Uses cardiac monitoring equipment for telemetry patients
• EPIC charting system used
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7p-7a)
• Every other weekend rotation may be required
• Blocked scheduling may be discussed with the manager but cannot be guaranteed in the contract

• Active RN license (MO State or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Telemetry and IV start skills required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Two professional references required for consideration
• PDF copies of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

• Provide routine nursing care including assessments and vital signs every 8 hours
• Administer cardiac and vasoactive drips/IV medications such as Diltiazem and Metoprolol
• Perform routine finger stick blood sugar checks
• Assist with special care procedures including blood transfusions and fluid boluses as needed
• Support physician-performed procedures such as thoracentesis, paracentesis, central line insertion, bone marrow aspiration, and chest tube insertion
• Black scrub color required
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
