Kids in Motion Summer Supervisor

Douglass Community Services, Inc. is currently hiring for a variety of positions to work in a rewarding community services environment. We are looking to grow our programs with enthusiastic people who are passionate about using innovative approaches to empower others for lifelong success.

2 Temporary Positions:

Starting Salary: $ per hour

40 hours/5 weeks:
May 27th – July 1st.

The Kids in Motion (KIM) program is designed to encourage health, success, and stability, as well as opportunity and financial incentives to 5th and 6th grade participants. The program focuses on several common goals, including life and social skills, general youth development, academic enrichment, career exploration, and leadership development.

• Conducts Kids in Motion activities in accordance with established Douglass Community Services guidelines and Kids in Motion protocol.
• Schedules intakes and conducts baseline assessments of participant's status, strengths, and challenges to create personalized action plans.
• Transport youth to local community service projects.
• Develops and maintains a supportive and beneficial relationship with students.
• Ensures confidentiality is maintained.
• Provides program coaching to encourage and guide participants in meeting their identified goals.
• Completes assessments, reviews, purchase requisitions, and purchases necessities to meet the needs of the program and participants

• Establishes and maintains positive effective working relationships with supervisors and coworkers.

A high school diploma or GED equivalency is preferred, as well as one-year experience in working with youth. Additionally, the ability to take initiative, make independent judgments, promote teamwork, and maintain confidentiality are required to successfully fulfill this job’s responsibilities. Applicants must pass a Motor Vehicle Background check and either have or obtain a Class E driver’s license or equivalent prior to the beginning of the summer program.

Douglass Community Services will help applicants with costs associated with licensing.
