Job Overview
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated CDL Driver / Laborer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a truck and trailer to transport materials and equipment to and from job sites. When not driving, you will actively support field operations as a laborer, assisting crews with a variety of construction related tasks.
This is a traveling position, requiring flexibility to work at various job sites as needed.
- CDL Driving Duties:
- Safely operate and maneuver commercial vehicles, including dump trucks, end-dumps, flatbeds, and equipment trailers.
- Transport construction materials, equipment, and machinery to and from job sites.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
- Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections; report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Properly secure cargo to prevent damage during transportation.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage.
- Adhere to company safety policies, procedures, and traffic laws.
- Communicate with dispatch, supervisors, and team members regarding schedules, delays, or issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized vehicle and report mechanical issues promptly.
- Laborer Responsibilities (when not driving):
- Assist crews with general construction labor including digging, loading, and material handling.
- Perform site preparation and cleanup, including removing debris and organizing materials.
- Support equipment operators by spotting, guiding, and maintaining safe work zones.
- Help install and maintain job site materials such as forms, barriers, and temporary structures.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Assist with basic maintenance of equipment and tools.
- Follow all safety protocols, including PPE requirements and hazard recognition.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support project completion.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
- Clean driving record with no recent accidents or major violations.
- Minimum of 1 year of CDL driving experience (construction industry experience preferred).
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
- Ability to operate commercial vehicles in various road and weather conditions.
- Willingness to travel and work in the field as a laborer when not driving.
- Strong work ethic with a commitment to safety and teamwork.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding work.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
