EL Resource Teacher/Interventionist Bilingual Spanish Certified (Job )

Principal.

Location:

Spring Wood Middle School. Employment terms: 181 days per collective bargaining agreement with the KEA.

• Professional Educator License (PEL) with the appropriate Elementary K‑9 or Middle School endorsements.
• Language Arts and/or Math grades 5‑8 endorsement preferred.
• Middle School teaching experience within the last five years preferred.

• Demonstrate knowledge of content and pedagogy as it relates to English Learners.
• Knowledge of Illinois English Language Proficiency Standards for English Language Learners.
• Deep understanding of second language acquisition.
• Demonstrate range of knowledge in teaching newcomers to the United States.
• Multicultural awareness and experience working with the diverse student demographics.
• Demonstrate knowledge of students.
• Selection of appropriate individualized instructional goals based on WIDA and the ELD Standards Framework.
• Demonstrate knowledge of resources to support effective student learning.
• Design coherent, small group instruction based on mastery of the Illinois Learning Standards incorporating the Common Core.
• Effectively assess student learning and document evidence of student learning, growth, and mastery of standards.
