Services Technician Sr

Location:

Hanover Park, IL or Fort Worth, TX (fully onsite)

• Install, modify, repair, test and/or service systems and communications equipment, including hardware and peripherals; software configuration; voice, video and data cabling systems; and networks.
• Perform necessary hardware and peripheral repairs, identifying problems and determining efficient, cost‑effective resolutions to minimize customer downtime.
• Install and test system hardware at customer sites, ensuring proper setup and functionality and following any special instructions.
• Complete all required documentation for service calls to ensure accurate billing and timely return of defective products/parts with respect to warranty or contract; prepare defective products/parts for return to vendor and file required paperwork per Insight policies and procedures.
• Identify system hardware problems and determine efficient, cost‑effective resolutions.

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a four‑year college or university or 3–4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with LANs, WANs, personal computers, messaging and server software applications.
• Experience with cable plants, network services, email, bulletin boards, and CD‑ROM libraries.
• Ability to automate tasks using basic scripting techniques.
