About Us

New Jersey Hills Media Group publishes local news online and in print for 51 communities across Essex, Hunterdon, Morris and Somerset counties. We engage and inform the towns we serve with locally-driven, fact-based reporting that inspires civic participation and strengthens the fabric of our communities. As we transform local news for the digital age, we’re building a sustainable model that combines traditional reporting excellence with innovative membership and donor support.

We’re launching new digital-first news initiatives in 2026 while maintaining our commitment to the core communities we’ve served for decades.

One of our most exciting new offerings is Parsippany Daily
, a new website where we will have a dedicated editor engaging deeply with community residents, supported by a digital sales and marketing strategy, with no subscription required to access core content. We will be providing Parsippany with essential daily news and engaging features based on community input.

Position Overview

Your job will be similar to that of an account manager, but way more proactive.

Your job will be to fight for the success of Parsippany’s businesses and nonprofits — particularly in the way of helping them get their message to the residents of Parsippany and the surrounding area through the Parsippany Daily website, email newsletter and social media.

  • Your writing — especially your email and text messages — is clear, organized, and doesn’t use any more words than required. (It’s more succinct than this job posting.)

  • You can see yourself fighting tirelessly to help Parsippany’s businesses get their messages out through Parsippany Daily. (You know, it’s actually hard to get seen on Instagram and Facebook these days!)

  • You love the Parsippany area and Parsippany Daily’s mission to connect the community.

  • Money isn’t that important to you — we’re a scrappy, nonprofit-owned community news outlet.
    Our office is right next to downtown Morristown if you're into that kind of scene
    .

  • What You’ll Actually Do
  • Get to know our current business partners who are potential Parsippany Daily advertisers and what matters to them.

  • Connect with new potential partners and start conversations with them and other members of our sales team.

  • Take care of businesses that reach out to us.

  • Run and update their messaging on our website and newsletter.

  • Give them a level of treatment they don’t get anywhere else.

  • Your success will be defined by your work to recruit, maintain and grow relationships with Parsippany’s businesses. There are elements of account management, and sales, and you’ll probably also end up being a little bit of a small business owner’s inadvertent therapist at times.
