The Opportunity

MIM seeks an Investment Analyst to join our Alternatives/Middle Market Private Capital ("Alts/MMPC") team. The Investment Associate position is a unique opportunity to work directly with a 25‑person team managing approximately $24 billion of assets on behalf of Met Life’s general account as well as affiliated and unaffiliated investors. Met Life’s Alts/MMPC team portfolio has a three‑fold mandate: (i) primary fund commitments across global private equity (buyout, venture, special situations, etc.),
(ii) equity co‑investments alongside private equity sponsors, and (iii) senior and junior lending to U.S. sponsor‑backed portfolio companies.
- Analyze and evaluate investment opportunities, conduct due diligence, and support the investment team in making informed decisions.
- Conduct thorough analysis and evaluation of potential investment opportunities in private equity funds, equity co‑investments, and debt.
- Assist in the preparation of investment memos and presentations for the investment committee.
- Monitor and track the performance of existing investments and provide regular updates to the investment team.
- Assist in sourcing and tracking new opportunities with external private equity sponsors.
- Conduct market research and stay updated on industry trends and developments.
- Collaborate with other team members to support the overall investment process.
- Maintain and update financial models and databases.
- 1 to 2 years of Financial Services Experience and / or Internships
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and interpersonal skills with ability to work independently and in a fast‑paced, collaborative team environment.
- Proactive, detail‑oriented individual with keen focus on performance and results.
- Excellent written and oral communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or similar analytical/quantitative field.
- Knowledge of private equity
