Application Support Engineer

Overview

Application Support Engineer responsible for monitoring and maintaining critical technology infrastructure, resolving complex technical issues, and ensuring continuous operation of banking systems.

• Provide technical support for service management, addressing complex issues for specified client groups.
• Develop support model and service offerings to improve customer and stakeholder experience.
• Execute preventive maintenance on hardware and software, utilizing monitoring tools and metrics.
• Maintain a knowledge base with documentation of resolved cases for future reference and self‑service.
• Analyze system logs, error messages, and user reports to identify root causes of hardware, software, and network problems, and resolve issues.
• Implement automation, monitoring enhancements, capacity management, resiliency, business continuity, front‑office support, and stakeholder management.
• Identify and mitigate potential service‑impacting risks and issues through proper processes.
• Proactively assess support activities, implement automations where appropriate, and tune monitoring tools, thresholds, and alerting.

• Practical experience with Linux/Unix (Shell), Microsoft Windows and cloud platforms (Amazon Web Services, Open Shift).
• Experience with databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server.
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (Cisco App Dynamics, Elastic Kibana, basic APM).
• Proficiency in coding and scripting languages:
  Python, Shell scripting, Power Shell, JavaScript.
• Understanding of multi‑platform service architectures.
• Knowledge of automation tools (Ansible, IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler, Autosys) is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, ability to manage priority scenarios and adapt to evolving technologies.
• Excellent collaboration skills across wider teams.

Whippany, NJ. Base salary range: $80,000–$120,000. Eligible for incentive award.
