Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Java Kafka Developer to design, develop, and maintain real-time streaming applications using Apache Kafka in the banking and financial services domain
. You will work on high-throughput, low-latency systems for payments, transactions, risk analysis, and regulatory reporting.

• Develop and maintain Kafka producers, consumers, and stream processing applications using Java
• Implement event-driven architectures and real-time data pipelines
• Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and low latency in financial data streaming
• Integrate Kafka with core banking systems, payment gateways, and downstream services
• Implement data governance, audit trails, and security compliance for financial transactions
• Optimize Kafka clusters for performance, scalability, and reliability
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and monitor system health
• Collaborate with backend, data, risk, and compliance teams
• Follow secure coding practices and financial industry standards

• Strong hands-on experience with Apache Kafka (Kafka Streams, Kafka Connect, ksql
  
  DB)
• Proficient in Java (8+) with solid OOP and multithreading concepts
• Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining event-driven microservices
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and messaging patterns
• Knowledge of banking/financial transaction processing is highly desirable
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, Avro, Protobuf
• Understanding of Kafka security (SSL/TLS, SASL, ACLs) and encryption
• Good knowledge of Linux, shell scripting, and basic networking

• Experience with Confluent Platform & Schema Registry
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS MSK, Azure Event Hubs, GCP Pub/Sub)
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with stream processing frameworks (Flink, Spark Streaming)
• Monitoring and alerting tools (
  Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack
  )

• Experience in payments, trading systems, lending, or core banking applications
• Understanding of transaction guarantees, reconciliation, and settlement
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance (PCI-DSS, SOX, AML/KYC)
• Handling high-volume, low-latency transaction data streams

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
