Job Description

Purpose of the role:
To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities:
Development and delivery of high‑quality software solutions using industry‑aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimised for performance. Cross‑functional collaboration with product managers, designers and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives. Collaboration with peers, participation in code reviews, and promotion of a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.

Staying informed of industry technology trends and actively contributing to technology communities to foster technical excellence and growth. Adherence to secure coding practices, implementation of effective unit testing practices, and ensuring proper code design, readability, and reliability.

Assistant Vice President Expectations:

What will you be doing?

Barclays Services Corp. seeks Assistant VP, TDS Senior Developer in Whippany, NJ:
Develop, enhance, and maintain software for Treasury & Liquidity that is responsible for collecting, managing, and storing various business data and generating and submitting regulatory reports. Provide technical expertise on Scala and Cloudera Hadoop. Evangelise Dev Ops to improve the quality and efficiency of delivery. Participate in support for existing implementation. Non‑production development and test environment setup and management, big‑data solution design and optimisation.

Contribute to the definition of development standards, patterns and techniques. Contribute to model/storming sessions, sprint demos, planning sessions and retrospectives. Translate high‑level solutions into high‑quality technical artefacts; think ‘outside of the box’ to support the business in delivering its strategic objectives within the constraints of a regulatory environment. Drive the adoption of Lean and Agile techniques; maintain a high‑quality set of documentation.

May telecommute pursuant to company policies. (Hybrid).
