Sr. AWS Cloud Engineer

Job Description

Purpose of the role:
To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Develop and deliver high‑quality software solutions using industry‑aligned programming languages, frameworks and tools. Ensure code is scalable, maintainable and optimised for performance. Collaborate cross‑functionally with product managers, designers and other engineers to define requirements, devise solution strategies and ensure seamless integration with business objectives. Participate in code reviews, promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing, stay informed of industry technology trends, adhere to secure coding practices, and implement effective unit testing practices.

Lead a team or collaborate on assignments, set objectives, coach employees and perform evaluations. Demonstrate leadership behaviours to create an environment where colleagues thrive: listen and be authentic, energise and inspire, align across the enterprise and develop others.

• Software development building enterprise‑grade applications with Java & Spring frameworks, solid experience in microservices architecture.
• AWS Cloud Services – MSK, EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, Dynamo
  
  DB, Networking concepts, Cloud Formation.
• Messaging platforms and integrations – Kafka, Webhooks & event streaming.
• Knowledge of observability practices (logging, metrics, tracing) using tools such as Cloud Watch, Prometheus/Grafana, or equivalent.
• AI enthusiasm with understanding of Agentic‑AI fundamentals and frameworks.
• Exposure to the financial domain, particularly Core Processors such as TSYS, FDR, FIS.

Location:

Whippany, NJ. Minimum Salary: $120,000. Maximum Salary: $175,000. This role is eligible for an incentive award and a competitive benefits package.
