Job Title
Sr. ETL Developer, Assistant Vice President (Whippany, NJ)
Purpose of the roleTo design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
AccountabilitiesDevelopment and delivery of high‑quality software solutions by using industry‑aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance. Cross‑functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives. Collaboration with peers, participation in code reviews, and promotion of a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities. Adherence to secure coding practices and implementation of unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. Collaborate closely with other functions and business divisions. Lead a team performing complex tasks, set objectives, coach employees, appraisal of performance, and determination of reward outcomes.

Job ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop and operate a data lake platform using Python, Apache Spark, Hadoop, Sqoop, Hive, Pig, and SQL to build ETL analytics, data quality and risk control components. Create high‑level design documents and exhaustive data maps to translate requirements to AbInitio Graph or Plan. Partner with business users, analysts and technology teams to comprehend data onboarding requirements for loading data into Market Risk Strategic Platforms.
Develop AbInitio Graph, Plan and Unix shell scripts. Support system integration testing, user acceptance testing, and troubleshoot various problems during project development life cycles. Utilize knowledge of AbInitio products (Continuous Flow, Express It, Query It, Metadata Hub, Control Center) and concepts of Hadoop, Kafka, and messaging queues. Engage with users, explain existing functionality, and offer solutions. Manage a team of three junior and mid‑level software developers.
May telecommute.
Experience with Python, Apache Spark, Hadoop ecosystem, AbInitio products, SQL, Hive, Pig, and data pipeline development. Knowledge of Kafka and messaging queues. Ability to lead and mentor junior developers. Strong communication and analytical skills. Experience in risk or financial domain (e.g., Market Risk) beneficial. Secure coding and unit testing practices required.

Minimum salary: $189,592 per year; maximum salary: $195,000 per year. Salary includes only base salary; additional compensation may be available. Eligible for incentive award.
