Job Title:

People Soft 9.1 Developer

Duration: 6 months

Location: Whippany, NJ (Onsite)

We are seeking an experienced People Soft 9.1 Developer to support and enhance a legacy People Soft application environment running on an Oracle database. This role is heavily hands‑on and focused on custom development, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and ongoing maintenance of a mission‑critical People Soft system. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a mature codebase and understands best practices for extending and stabilizing legacy People Soft implementations.

• Design, develop, and maintain custom People Soft 9.1 solutions
• Write, enhance, and debug People Code (Component, Application, Record, and Field)
• Application Engine programs
• SQRs and batch processes
• Develop and maintain custom components, pages, and records using Application Designer
• Implement enhancements while minimizing impact to existing customizations

• Write and optimize complex SQL queries against Oracle databases
• Analyze data issues and perform controlled data fixes
• Support performance tuning efforts in collaboration with DBAs
• Develop and maintain database‑backed batch processes and interfaces

• Support and enhance Process Scheduler jobs
• Troubleshoot batch failures and performance issues
• Develop and maintain inbound/outbound interfaces (flat files, database tables, Integration Broker where applicable)

• Perform deep technical troubleshooting across People Code, Application Engine, SQL, and batch processing
• Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks in a legacy environment
• Identify technical debt and propose stabilization improvements

• Participate in technical design, unit testing, and deployment activities
• Support lower and higher environments (DEV, TEST, PROD)
• Assist with patches, People Tools updates, and system maintenance activities
• Create and maintain technical documentation for customizations

• 5+ years of hands‑on People Soft development experience
• Strong experience with People Soft 9.1
• Expert‑level skills in People Code, Application Designer, Application Engine, SQR, and SQL (Oracle)
• Proven experience supporting highly customized People Soft implementations
• Strong understanding of People Soft batch architecture and Process Scheduler

• Experience working in legacy or end‑of‑life People Soft environments
• Familiarity with People Tools 8.5x
• Experience with Integration Broker, file‑based and database‑driven interfaces, UNIX/Linux environments
• Exposure to People Soft upgrade or migration planning (even if not executed)
• Prior consulting or long‑term support engagement experience
