Night School Instructor - Manufacturing
Program Dates:

Monday through Thursday, 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Night School Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality, hands-on instruction to adult learners seeking to enter or advance in the
manufacturing and skilled trades field. This position combines classroom instruction with practical shop experience, preparing students with foundational
manufacturing skills, safety training, and industry-relevant techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
● Provide engaging instruction in manufacturing fundamentals, including shop safety, blueprint reading, measurement, and basic fabrication processes
● Deliver hands-on training using industry-standard tools and equipment (machining, metal fabrication, assembly, and production processes)
● Integrate OSHA safety standards and best practices into all aspects of instruction
● Provide instruction and certification preparation for Hot Work (Hot Works) safety, including safe use of cutting, grinding, and welding-related equipment
● Develop and follow a structured curriculum aligned with industry and workforce needs
● Assess student progress through written tests, practical evaluations, and final assessments
● Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop/classroom environment
● Track attendance, grades, and student performance in a timely and accurate manner
● Support and mentor adult learners with varying skill levels and backgrounds
● Collaborate with program coordinators and administration to ensure program success
Qualifications:
● Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, machining, or a related trade
● Hot Work (Hot Works) certification required
● OSHA certification or strong knowledge of OSHA standards preferred
● Experience with shop equipment such as mills, lathes, grinders, and fabrication tools
● Prior teaching or training experience preferred, especially with adult learners
● Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
● Ability to demonstrate hands-on skills safely and effectively
Preferred
Skills:
● Experience preparing students for entry-level manufacturing or trade certifications
● Knowledge of modern manufacturing processes (CNC, basic automation, or production systems)
● Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs
Work Environment:
● Combination of classroom and hands-on shop setting
● Evening schedule designed for adult learners and working professionals
Compensation:
● $63/hour
