Functional Analyst (FA) 2 – Maryland Office
Work schedule:
8 hours, 5 days a week (Monday‑Friday). The role is a prime contract position located at Amentum’s Maryland office.
- Identify overall security requirements for the protection of data to ensure implementation of appropriate information security controls.
- Provide analysis of customer mission needs to determine functional testing requirements.
- Collaborate with security control assessors on systems testing.
- Perform functional analysis to identify required tasks and their interrelationships.
- Identify required resources and maintain security posture for information systems or programs.
- Enable System Security Planning and collaborate with engineers on system integration.
- Work with Delegated Authorizing Officials (DAOs), ISSOs, and System Owners to create, register, and assign System Security Plans (SSPs).
- Review and update organizational documentation that affects cybersecurity requirements.
- Minimum education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT Engineering, or related fields such as Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Information Assurance, or Information Security. - Alternative: four (4) additional years of functional analyst experience can substitute for the bachelor’s degree (total of 6 years of experience). Overall minimum experience: 2 years of related work experience (6 years if no bachelor’s degree).
- Knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and at least one year experience applying its principles.
- Security clearance: TS/SCI FS Poly Minimum.
- DoD 8570 compliance with IAM I required.
$110,000 – $150,000 (annual). Compensation may vary based on responsibilities, experience, education, and market data.
