Position Type: Contract-to-Hire (3-month initial term, conversion eligible)

Location: Onsite at Dartmouth College campus, Hanover, NH

Compensation: $25 - $30/hour depending on experience

Hours: 15–20 hours/week

Overview of the Initiative

The Sensor Technology Cluster at Dartmouth is a pioneering, interdisciplinary research initiative focused on advancing personalized, data-driven wearable technology. The cluster aims to position Dartmouth as a global leader in wearable sensing by developing standards, conducting cutting-edge research, and fostering collaboration across academia, industry, and government. Through the initiative, the cluster will define a new personal care concept through sensing technologies, explore real-world applications in health and wellness, and advocate for a unified standard in wearable sensor technology.

Roles and Responsibilities

As the Program Coordinator, you will support the organization of activities in the Sensor Technology Cluster, ensuring smooth operations, coordinating events, and facilitating communication between team members and external partners. You will support the cluster's goals by managing day-to-day activities, handling logistics, and contributing to the effective execution of the cluster's initiatives.

  • Program Management and Coordination
  • Oversee the daily operations of the cluster, ensuring that all projects and activities are on schedule and align with the initiative's objectives.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for team members, external collaborators, and stakeholders, coordinating communication and fostering productive relationships.
  • Event and Workshop Planning
  • Organize and coordinate cluster events, including quarterly working group meetings, think tank workshops, and the grand launch.
  • Handle logistics, scheduling, invitations, and materials for events to ensure a smooth and professional experience for all participants.
  • Documentation and Reporting
  • Compile and maintain records of research activities, meeting minutes, and project progress, ensuring documentation is organized and accessible.
  • Contribute to the creation of the annual report, summarizing the cluster's achievements, research advancements, and industry impact.
  • Public Relations and Outreach
  • Coordinate outreach activities to build awareness of the cluster's mission and research, working closely with Dartmouth's communications and marketing teams.
  • Facilitate partnerships with industry stakeholders, such as the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) and wearable tech companies, to expand the cluster's impact and reach.
  • Administrative Support
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, managing emails, and coordinating travel arrangements for team members.
  • Support the Lead Researcher and other team members in managing workflows, timelines, and deadlines for ongoing projects.
Required Qualifications
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Biosensing, Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, or a related field with a strong understanding of wearable technology or biosensing applications.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in program coordination, project management, or a similar role, preferably within a research, academic, or healthcare-focused environment.

    Proficiency in project management, with demonstrated organizational and multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Communication

    Skills:

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of coordinating effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Budget and Event Management: Experience with budget management, event planning, and document preparation.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with office productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace) and familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello).
  • Interest in Wearable Technology: A strong passion for wearable technology, health, and wellness, with a desire to contribute to a transformative research initiative in sensing technology.
