Special Gifts Officer – The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth provides donor engagement support by soliciting and securing gifts ranging from $25,000 to $250,000+, partnering with the Tuck Advancement Team and aligning with strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities- Solicit five- and six-figure annual fund and restricted current-use gifts from alumni prospects; secure written commitments and ensure prompt payment of pledges (70%).
- Identify and cultivate potential donors using prospect research, fundraising expertise, and creativity, and refer prospects to appropriate teams (15%).
- Develop gift proposals with the Campaign Operations Team for specific strategic initiatives (5%).
- Enter donor contact activities into advancement systems and collaborate with partners (5%).
- Contribute ideas and support to Tuck Advancement initiatives, staying abreast of higher‑education fundraising trends (5%).
- Drive innovation in fundraising approaches and collaborate across Advancement, Tuck, and Dartmouth institutions.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including professional development and vehicle driving as an essential function.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience.
- Experience raising gifts for higher‑education institutions or transferable sales/relationship‑management experience; proficiency with fundraising systems such as Ellucian Advance.
- Knowledge of higher‑education economics, philanthropy, and administration.
- Willingness to travel extensively to meet donors and attend events.
- Strong ability to exceed donor and colleague expectations; proactive in delivering excellence.
- Creative, innovative mindset to develop new fundraising approaches.
- Excellent collaboration skills across Advancement, Tuck, and Dartmouth teams.
- Commitment to ongoing professional learning and applying new insights.
