- Salary Range: $29.94–$31.01 per hour
- Assist the Lead Teacher in meeting the care, developmental, and educational needs of a group of children.
- Plan and implement curriculum, guide behavior, and communicate with parents.
- Record child developmental progress and supervise part‑time staff.
- Assume the role of Lead Teacher in the Lead Teacher’s absence.
- Articulate program goals and select activities to achieve those goals.
- Assist with well‑rounded classroom curriculum planning and child assessment.
- Develop a comprehensive curriculum promoting physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
- Plan curriculum based on children’s needs and interests.
- Adapt programming to meet individual children and family needs.
- Support children during activities, providing materials and ideas to extend play.
- Support activity success and learning enjoyment.
- Participate in conversations with children, reading one‑on‑one or in groups.
- Assume leadership of a specific activity when multiple activities occur.
- Observe, assess, and record children’s skills and progress.
- Assist with special events including field trips and visitors.
- Create and maintain an attractive, organized classroom, encouraging creativity.
- Assist with transitions from home to school.
- Maintain awareness of each child’s whereabouts.
- Establish behavior guidelines and enforce expectations.
- Provide guidance and re‑direction using positive guidance techniques.
- Enable children to resolve conflicts.
- Model and teach developmentally appropriate behavior and skills.
- Create a safe and secure environment.
- Respond to needs for attention and reassurance.
- Assist children in managing feelings positively.
- Verify authorization for escorts other than parents/guardians.
- Ensure children are signed in and out.
- Ensure safety and well‑being of children at all times.
- Implement health policies, including hygiene, toileting, and diapering procedures.
- Report accidents and injuries, administer first aid as needed.
- Ensure children are dressed appropriately for health and safety.
- Dispense and store medications per Center policies.
- Maintain confidentiality of information about children and families.
- Communicate with families about daily activities.
- Offer suggestions in response to family requests or concerns.
- Conduct regular family conferences via bulletin boards, newsletters, and written notes.
- Assist in arranging events and activities for children and families.
- Provide assistance to other classrooms as necessary.
- Collaborate on activities and events.
- Assist in maintaining shared spaces.
- Participate in maintaining equipment and supplies; inform Lead Teacher of needs.
- Participate in standing and ad‑hoc center committees.
- Pursue ongoing professional development.
- Resolve center issues with other staff.
- Supervise temporary staff and volunteers.
- Participate in regular team meetings.
- Coordinate meal and snack preparation, ensuring nutritious food.
- Model good eating habits and manners; promote a relaxing mealtime environment.
- Demonstrate professionalism and collegiality in all interactions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education:
Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Experience:
At least 9 credits in Early Childhood Education. - Preferred:
Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.
