Position Purpose

The Precollege Programs Manager plays a central role in bringing Dartmouth’s mission to life for the next generation of scholars. By ensuring the seamless day‑to‑day operation of Dartmouth’s on‑campus and online Precollege programs, this role creates the conditions for high‑school students to thrive academically and personally in a collegiate environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and execute day‑to‑day operations across on‑campus and online Precollege programs.
  • Manage concurrent program workflows throughout the academic calendar, from enrollment and hiring to orientation, instruction, and closeout.
  • Coordinate logistics for all program activities including class schedules, housing check‑in, orientation workshops, field trips, and co‑curricular events.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for enrolled students and families with timely, professional communication.
  • Support academic accommodations and student safety in collaboration with residential staff and mentors.
  • Manage purchases, expenses, reimbursements, and vendor billing, including end‑of‑program reconciliation.
  • Compile and distribute weekly enrollment and sales data to program leadership.
  • Maintain accurate student records and program documentation.
  • Contribute to marketing and outreach efforts, including website updates and social media content.
  • Track progress toward enrollment goals and provide insights for program planning.
  • Coordinate the full instructor hiring process, including offer letters, background checks, and Code of Conduct completion.
  • Hire and onboard undergraduate teaching assistants and coordinate course materials.
  • Prepare materials for orientation workshops and support instructors throughout the program.
  • Design and maintain comprehensive knowledge documentation for all program functions.
  • Revise and update the Instructor Handbook annually.
  • Gather participant and instructor feedback and contribute to program assessment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, incorporating best practices.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a relevant discipline.
  • 1–2 years of experience in program coordination or administration, preferably in higher education, summer academic, or youth‑serving environment.
  • Proficiency with student information or enrollment management systems, communication platforms, and productivity software.
  • Data tracking and reporting experience (e.g., enrollment metrics, budget monitoring).
  • Knowledge of best practices in youth program administration, academic support services, and student safety protocols.
  • Ability to work successfully in a hybrid and/or on‑campus environment, including evenings and weekends during program sessions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate independently.
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a university or college setting, particularly with Precollege or continuing education programs.
  • Familiarity with Dartmouth’s campus resources and institutional culture.
  • Experience delivering instructor training or onboarding.
  • Experience with CRM or enrollment management platforms such as Salesforce.
  • Analytical skills for visualizing enrollment or program data.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, event logistics, or residential program operations.
  • Comfort with website content management and basic social media administration.
  • Prior experience supervising or mentoring student staff or program volunteers.

The position is contract‑based for 24 months, with hybrid work flexibility outside of peak program dates. It is a Non‑Exempt, regular full‑time position scheduled for 40 hours per week.
