Position: Part Time High School Psychologist (0.2 FTE)

School Psychologist

As a School Psychologist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development within an educational setting. This position involves conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations, and collaborating with educators and families to develop individualized intervention plans. You will interpret complex data to guide instructional strategies, facilitate crisis intervention when necessary, and ensure all services align with state and federal special education regulations.

Ideal candidates will possess strong diagnostic skills and a passionate commitment to helping every student overcome barriers to success.

Education and Experience:

Minimum:
Master's degree in psychology from an accredited school of psychology (or equivalent training)
Preferred:
Doctoral degree in psychology from an accredited school of psychology
Two to Four (2-4) years of relevant experience
Valid New Hampshire teacher certification, including a School Psychologist endorsement.

Position begins August 20, 2026, open until filled.

This position is governed by the HEA Union Agreement.

Salary range for this position is $11,109 to $22,844, depending on education and experience.

General

Purpose:

Work to support the success of students academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. Delivers a planned and coordinated program of psychological services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position:

Work with students and their families to:

Identify and address learning and behavior problems that interfere with school success

Evaluate eligibility for special education services (within a multidisciplinary team)

Support students' social, emotional, and behavioral health

Provide counseling and specialized instruction for those struggling with social, emotional, and behavioral problems

Promote wellness and resilience by reinforcing communication and social skills, problem solving, anger management, self-regulation, self-determination, and optimism with individuals and groups, as indicated

Make referrals and help coordinate community support service

Make appropriate assessments and referrals for suspected abuse/neglect as a mandated reporter

Work with teachers to:

Identify and resolve academic barriers to learning

Design and implement student progress monitoring systems

Design and implement academic and behavioral interventions

Support effective individualized instruction

Create positive and trauma-sensitive classroom environments

Motivate all students to engage in learning

Recommend modifications of the school program for students who require accommodations

Work with administrators to:

Implement school-wide prevention programs that help maintain positive school climates conducive to learning

Promote school policies and practices that ensure the safety of all students by reducing school violence, bullying, and harassment

Respond to crises by providing leadership, direct services, and coordination with needed community services

Design, implement, and garner support for comprehensive school mental health programming

Coordinate Restorative Practices services

Work with community providers to:

Coordinate the delivery of services to students and their families in and outside of school

Help students transition to and from school and community learning environments, such as residential treatment or juvenile justice programs

Initiate contact with and act as a liaison between the home, school, community health agencies and the private medical sector to enhance the health and wellness of the school community

In performing the above duties, work collaboratively in a professional learning community with other teachers, support staff, and others as appropriate, in addressing the needs of students, developing effective practices, and developing and implementing best practices.
