Provide strategic leadership and vision for a team of liaison librarians advancing the Dartmouth Libraries’ engagement with research and learning for the arts and humanities. Establish collaborative strategies with academic departments and campus partners to support forward-looking research, teaching, and learning initiatives. Contribute to evidence-based assessment efforts informing library collections, programming, and services, primarily in support of the School of Arts & Sciences.

Shape the continued evolution of the liaison librarian role in response to the changing needs and challenges of our community.

This is an onsite only work location position.

Masters plus 6 or more years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

• ALA
  -accredited MLS / MLIS , MIS or the equivalent combination of a relevant advanced degree or experience working in an academic library.
• 3+ years experience supervising and/or mentoring staff, chairing committees, and leading projects.
• Proven leadership, management, and interpersonal skills which encourage teamwork, collaboration, and relationship building.
• Demonstrated capacity to foster and manage change in a rapidly changing environment and with a diverse community.
• Demonstrated success in applying critical, analytical, and innovative thinking to work.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a wide variety of small-group and team environments.
• Knowledge of the evolving scholarly communications landscape with an understanding of the library’s role in the research environment.
• Experience providing research and learning services related to the arts or humanities in an academic library environment.
• Experience participating in collection development in an academic library.
• Evidence of ongoing professional growth and awareness of current and emerging trends in librarianship.

• 5 years of progressively higher administrative responsibilities in an academic library.
• Degree in an arts or humanities discipline.
• Understanding and interest in educational technology and its applications in an academic library.
• Experience with data-intensive research methodologies and related library services.
• Experience with grant writing and development.
