Senior Manager, Operations Engineering

Hypertherm Associates seeks a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager, Operations Engineering to oversee the industrialization of new products into serial production, acting as liaison between product development and all operations functions.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Project Engineers and drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing.
  • Mentor, coach, and provide subject‑matter expertise to Business Unit manufacturing engineers.
  • Identify/implement capital investments and factory automation solutions to improve safety, quality, capacity, and cost.
  • Lead large‑scale, complex industrial projects and develop/implement best‑in‑class processes and standards for world‑class manufacturing/lean manufacturing.
  • Promote lean and efficient operating practices to enhance process efficiency and gross margin.
Qualifications
  • BS degree in engineering with 2+ years of hands‑on management experience leading a team of engineers.
  • 7+ years supporting manufacturing engineering processes, especially in power electronics and/or high‑volume precision machining.
  • Experience leading new product industrialization and acting as connector between product development and operations.
  • Proven ability to build and lead a high‑performing engineering team, providing mentorship and career development.
  • Track record of advancing operational excellence, championing lean manufacturing standards, ensuring BOM and routing accuracy, and partnering on 3‑5 year capital and technology plans.
  • Outstanding organizational, communication, interpersonal, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to collaborate, influence buy‑in, and work independently while managing a team.
  • Knowledge of project tasking, analysis, recommendations, and implementation of process improvement.
Preferred Experience
  • Industry experience in high‑volume machining, electronics assembly, mechatronics, or automation.
  • Professional certifications: PMI PMP, Agile Certified Professional (ACP), or equivalent.

Onsite in Hanover, NH.
