The Space Planner provides planning, design and limited project management for new program spaces, department relocation, small- and medium-scale building renovations and, occasionally, new construction. The position facilitates and manages projects from initial programming and conceptual design through project budgeting and scheduling, and, when necessary, solicitation of licensed professionals to proceed with the building permit, design development and construction processes. The Planner also is responsible for analyzing space data, managing space use and utilization studies, and updating space standards and guidelines.

Required Qualifications
- Education and Yrs Exp Bachelors plus 6 or more years' experience or combination of education and experience

• Bachelor’s degree or technical certification related to architecture, interior design, construction management, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
• Five to seven years in planning, designing, and facilitation design and construction projects
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Proficient with design and/or construction software, such as Auto Cad, Revit, and Sketch Up

• Familiarity with a broad variety of higher education design environments
• Ability to negotiate and resolve confrontational issues as they arise
