Location of PositionOn site, primarily Geisel and Dartmouth campus venues in Hanover and Lebanon, with occasional off-site venues.
Position PurposeThe Event Assistant provides day-of, on-site operational support for events hosted or co-hosted by the Office of the Dean. These include Board of Advisors meetings, donor and alumni gatherings, faculty and student recognition events, lectureships, and senior leadership convenings. Work is assigned on a per-event basis. The position exists to add trained, reliable capacity on high-visibility event days without adding continuing staff
Required Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated customer service or hospitality orientation and professional presentation appropriate to donor and trustee-facing settings.
- Reliability and punctuality; ability to commit to scheduled event dates once confirmed.
- Sound judgment and discretion when working around confidential information and senior leaders.
- Ability to take direction and to work independently once briefed.
- Availability for evening and weekend events.
- Reliable transportation to campus and off-site venues. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to four hours at a time. Ability to lift, carry, and position materials up to 25 pounds. Work involves moving between indoor and outdoor venues in varying weather. Event days may exceed eight hours; overtime must be approved in advance by the event lead.
- Prior event, hospitality, conference, or catering experience.
- Familiarity with higher education or academic medicine environments.
- Familiarity with Dartmouth campus venues and parking

ScheduleIntermittent and non-continuous. Hours are event-driven, scheduled in advance by mutual agreement, and frequently include early mornings, evenings, and weekends. No guaranteed minimum hours.
