Position PurposeTo support the center’s research and training mission by operating and maintaining MRI systems and ensuring participant safety, while working with faculty, graduate students, research personnel, and undergraduates involved in neuroimaging studies.
Required Qualifications- Associates or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
- Certification: ARRT (MR) or equivalent MRI certification preferred.
- Minimum 1–2 years MRI experience; research experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with the Siemens Prisma 3T scanner is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of MRI physics and safety.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Preferred:
Magnetic Resonance Safety Officer (MRSO) certification.
- Perform MRI scans on research participants according to approved protocols.
- Ensure image quality and troubleshoot technical issues during scanning.
- Apply MRI safety standards for participants and staff.
- Screen participants for contraindications and maintain compliance with institutional and federal regulations.
- Assist researchers with protocol setup, sequence optimization, and data transfer.
- Maintain MRI equipment and coordinate service when needed.
- Maintain specialized MRI equipment (e.g., physiological monitoring, eye tracking, and other devices).
- Train research staff and students on MRI safety and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with investigators to implement new imaging techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of scans, calibration logs, and safety checks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
