TSG - The Sheridan Group, a DC-based strategic communications and public affairs firm, seeks a Stitcher Operator to support our in-house production needs. In this on-site role, you will set up, operate, and maintain stitcher and related finishing equipment to produce high-quality print and advocacy materials that support client campaigns. You'll read and interpret job tickets, manage paper and materials, perform quality checks, and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
Working in a collaborative, high-performance culture, you will coordinate closely with account and production teams to meet tight deadlines while upholding safety and quality standards. This role offers hands-on experience in a mission-driven environment at the intersection of policy, politics, and media.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor stitcher equipment for print and collateral projects
- Interpret job tickets and verify materials, counts, and specifications
- Inspect output for accuracy, alignment, and overall print quality
- Perform routine maintenance, adjustments, and minor troubleshooting on equipment
- Follow all safety, quality, and production standards and procedures
- Coordinate with production and account teams to meet deadlines and priorities
- Track job progress and document production counts and issues
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe production area
